This video shows you that it is possible to use the Playstation 3 controller in Gamemaker Studio 2 and basically in games generally. The point is that a Playstation 3 controller doesn’t work out of the box if you just plug it in via usb cable like you would with a generic gamepad or a xBox controller.
So in order to make this work you kind of need to emulate the ps3 controller to run. I am by no means an expert, I simply tested this out and it does work after you install a small programm. Also an instruction video goes in step by step how to make this possible for Windows 10 (and I assume older Windows versions). Apples IOs or linux I cannot test but I assume there are workaround also for these operation systems.
