This basics video tutorial shows you what the 3 creation “events” are in GameMaker Studio 2: Variable Definition, Create Event and Creation Code. All of them serve a specfic purpose upon creating variables that can be used in other events.

The hierarchy is Variable Definition, Create Event and Creation Code. Why is that important to know? Well, one can override the variables of the others, so this a must know in the context of creating your video game in GameMaker Studio 2.

The Variable Definition is the most recent addition to GameMaker Studio 2 (2019 I guess) and is another way to utalize variables similar in structure to Unity. It is more beginner friendly for teams/ non-coders which want to test/adapt settable things ingame.
