Easy to stupid AI: walker – [Game Maker Studio 2 | Basics]
The idea is quite simple. You basically give the walker (snail) enemy object a direction and speed value. Then you set on an invisible layer collision objects that redirect the enemy walker direction plus the image_xscale. What you get is a walker that ping pongs from left to the right. That easy way can be also used for enemies that go up and down.
A little disclaimer: There are more efficient and complex ways to achieve this goal but this is the most easy way I could conjure up.
