Destructivator2 Review: A great snack [game made in gamemaker]
The gameplay is simple and fast to pick up. You play this green 8 pixel action hero who can run, jump, duck and shoot in 3 directions. This game applies old school standards, which are bare bone. You select a level and beat it by defeating ever enemy there. If you are good you will be rewared with more or less stars which are the only unlockables there.
So is this a good game or not?
It depends if you like challenges and you are not a graphical purist. I personally enjoyed it quite a lot. It does tick off what I want from a game. The levels are portioned in small segments, they all feel different and are hard but not impossible to beat. Modern standards like tankyness or grinding are not possible here. This game is not meant to be player for 100 hours, doesn’t hold your hand or sets up an complicated lore. You play, unlock new and harder levels plus enjoy this snack for the meantime, because that is what this game is in the end. A well designed snack.
Disclaimer: I requested the key for this game, which I got. I didn’t get any money, sponsorship or any other affiliation with the developer/publisher here.
So here the tldr. Good small game, with challenging levels, tons of different enemies and the feeling that you earned completing a level.
