Astalon: Tears of the Earth [1min Review]
Made in Unit by the developer Labs Works, publisher Dangen Entertainment.
At start you have 3 distinct characters (tank, ranger, mage) with different abilites that unlock certain mini puzzzles in the vast tower you have to conquer.
You have a pact with death itself so failure is not an option in this game.
What that means is when you fail because your health will run out
you can then upgrade your team with general things (more health, show things on map) or upgrade a specific character that you prefer to play
The good:
– multiple characters to play
– vast dungeon to explore
– tons of secret rooms
– a neat story that doesn’t end once you beat the final boss
– gets more challenging the more you explore (still very fair)
– good bossfights
– neat story
– cute graphics
– simple but enjoyable gameplay
– unlock metroidvania skills that unlock new areas
The bad:
– a few upgrades are not explained what they do
Tldr:
Basically a very polished mini castlevania in a cute 8-bit style
8 out of 10

Disclaimer: I requested the key for this game, which I got. I didn’t get any money, sponsorship nor do I have any affiliation with the developer/publisher. But thanks for giving this gem to me!
