Iconic video game fonts are a great thing to make a game stand out. But in order to use them you need to understand that even though fonts are already installed on your computer, these come with restrictions. There are multiple ways to achieve a cool looking video game font. One is simply owning the font and therefore having a license to use it even commercially. That can be a free or baught font which is giving you the permission to use it even commercially. Another way is to use a free CC0 to CC4 font which are images but here you have to credit the author if required. Or if you want to create your own font, then, well… you own it because you made it yourself 😀

This video is by no means a legal advice because I am not a layer and this video tutorial is only a limited guide through the quagmire of copyright with fonts and typefaces.

This basic video tutorial shows you how to make a vignette in photoshop and how to implement it into your game in gamemaker studio. Vignettes are a simply but effective way to enhance the outlook of the screen and are a common practise among photographers and video game artists.

Video game shown is Shakedown: Hawaii.

The game was give to me by the developer Vblank Entertainment Inc. and besides this being a really cool game, I give great thanks to the developer!!!
