This vfx video tutorial shows you how to create visually a time freeze, time slow or bullet time with a few clicks in Gamemaker Studio.

The idea is quite simple you have a fx layer all the time set with desaturate and toggle the visibility of this layer off and on. That’s it!

This effect is highly used for slow time, bullet time, freeze time effects or simply to show a cutscene from the past. What you need to order is that things that are not important are below the fx layer (and therefore desaturated) and all the things that are still imporant/active are above and shown in their true colors.
