This basics video tutorial shows you how to use the powerful sprite/image editor in gamemaker studio.

Is it like a small photoshop or gimp? Yes it is.
This editor besides simply importing seperate images or whole sprite sheets is quite powerful when you need to ajust already existing images or when you like to create your own pixel art in gamemaker studio. You can even create your own animations quite fast which is a novel at least for me.

Will this replace the traditional editors like Photoshop, Gimp or Aseprite? Not really but you can already do most editing here without using 3rd party programms. And if you are not interested into making your own sprites or editing existing ones I say this is a must know to utalize the full potential of this tools because it defently has some.
