This advanced video tutorial shows you how to create mist, fog or wind in GameMaker Studio with particles.

The idea is quite simple. You want to use particles to create this cool effect where the camera is. So what you need to grab is the camera values like the x,y position plus width and height of the current camera to spawn fog, mist, wind as particles in a specific area.
