In this advanced video tutorial I show you how to make a megaman style destruction on one object in gamemaker studio.

What is that good for?

In a lot of retro video games you have when you beat a boss a very specifc destruction scene where the boss or then backgrond seem to be blowning up. This can be quite easily copied and adapted to every video game you wish. So in this video tutorial I show the an easy way to make it happen.

So what is the general idea behind such a destruction scene?

The boss or here the building in question moves in rugged way downwards, shakes a little bit and has on the ground a bunch of randomly spawned explosions. As a bonus there are less but bigger explosions on the “body” of the building.

This combination is quite powerful and is normally enriched by a blinking of the object in questions aswell as a screenshake.
